The Characters Are Already Talking

A few writers that I have been following have mentioned that the characters speak to them during the writing process. I have only just started, but already one of my characters told me that his job didn’t make sense. Having thought about what kind of person I was trying to create, I realised that a profession shift was in order. Now the character fits and the story can move on!
